A virtual classroom is a digital replica of a traditional classroom. The tutors teach and students learn in real-time, face-to-face but via internet-enabled technology devices. The classroom is interactive and allows for discussions to happen in real-time. Teachers upload work in advance to the whiteboard and students can write directly onto the screen using a number of interactive tools.
In terms of teaching and learning, everything remains the way it is, with the exception of the integration of technology. We take care of everything. Our director, Hannah will meet with your family to understand your tutoring needs. The next step is to try a free 30 minute trial lesson with a tutor specifically matched to your family's needs. Once you're happy with the match between the student and tutor, we'll book you in for regular weekly sessions with the same tutor.
We’re very careful about the tutors we select to join our network. We interview all of our tutors and make sure they hold a clear working with children check/ DBS check/ police check (or equivalent from their country). We accept only the highest quality tutors who have a passion for seeing their students exceed their academic goals.
We will match you with the highest quality tutor available at your preferred time. If you have any specific tutor preferences, you can mention it when you contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Absolutely! We believe the best learning happens when there is a strong rapport built between the tutor and student. Therefore, we keep you with the same tutor each week.
Easy! Your tutor will send you a lesson link via email each week. When it's time for the lesson, click on the link and launch the classroom - it's that easy!
Pay securely online via PayPal after the lesson has taken place. We invoice our families monthly to keep things simple.
We offer regular, weekly tuition because we believe it is the most effective way to achieve lastly results. Therefore, your tutor blocks your tutoring time each week, specifically for your family. We understand that things come up occasionally, and if you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we require 24 hours' written notice to your tutor.
You will need a:
– laptop or desktop computer
– webcam (if your are using a laptop, this is usually built in)
– speakers
– microphone
– headphones (optional, but recommended for best audio quality)
– reliable internet connection (home wifi is best)
You can draw on the virtual whiteboard with any input device on your computer that replaces your cursor, such as a digital drawing pen tablet.
For a smooth drawing experience, we recommend the Wacom Intuos digital drawing pen tablet.
Your tutor will upload any documents you will need for the lesson directly to the whiteboard in the online classroom. If there's something you'd like to upload, you can email it to your tutor or upload it directly from your computer to the classroom yourself. Your tutor can help you with this.
Tutoring Barcelona takes the stress out of booking a tutoring lesson and is able to function because of the honour system. Our service agreement actually states that you must not independently hire any past or present Tutoring Barcelona tutor, regardless of whether you want to use them for a recurring or one-off service. If you enjoy our service, we hope that you will do your part in keeping our eco-system intact and exclusively book through Tutoring Barcelona for all your tuition needs.
It takes us time to find the right tutor for your needs. Because our tutors reserve your time especially for you, you may cancel or reschedule your booking for free up to 24 hours in advance.
If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hour’s notice, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. Lessons cancelled on the day will be charged the full lesson fee.
Further, for our recurring weekly or fortnightly plans, there is a minimum commitment of 3 bookings. Lessons are still charged after each individual session, but you will be required to complete 3 bookings before leaving the service.

We’re confident you’ll love our service, so we offer a free 30 minute trial lesson with one of our tutors. This gives you the chance to see if online tutoring is right for you and to make sure it's a great match between you and the tutor we have selected. If the match isn't right, we'll re do the trial lesson with another tutor, free of charge.
